Yes. When you save a trip it makes you name that trip. So it gets saved in a folder called "na/save"

You can email or transfer via wire any trip, or the whole folder to the other device and dump them into that same folder.

For example: do a trip and click to save it. Name it something unusual like "abc123" or something. Then do a search for that file so you see where it resides on your device. On Windows 7 it would be "\ALK Technologies\CoPilot Live v9 Laptop\NA\save"

Make a shortcut to that folder location on "device 1" and make one on "device 2" so that you never have to search for it again. Now dump trips, miles, favorites, etc from device A to device B any time. It works across platforms too. In other words, "xyz123.trp" file would be the same trip on Windows, Android, and Apple devices in that folder.

you can install multiple androids, iphones. and i'm guessing windows phones.

but windows pc. only allows ONE activation.
kind of sucks. as sometimes i like to run the pc at home AND the laptop in the truck. (not at the same time though)

So this is easy to do. I have a lot of drivers doing that scenario. It takes like 30 seconds to deactivate it in the truck and activate on the home machine (and vice-versa.)

I have copilot for ios installed on an ipad, an iphone 6+ and an old iphone 5.

I use the iphone 5 as a stand alone GPS, dashcam. I love copilot! my places save from device to device. Copilot finds a lot of things no other GPS can. As far as finding a business or address the only rival I've seen is WAZE but WAZE doesn't route for trucks and it needs an internet connection to work.

So one must manually move or email the trip? No syncing via iCloud or third party server?

    Ok. Thanks.

Not necessarily. But also not for free. If you are you are using their RouteSync addon with PC Miler then you can transfer routes between CoPilot and PC Miler or another CoPilot in their cloud (link)

But I automatically assumed that the question in this thread about it would be referring to a driver who owned 2 CoPilots and wanted to know how to do it for free across his own devices. And since it can be done in 30 seconds once you make a shortcut to the folder with the files, it's relatively painless.

That's exactly my intended use... My wife and I would be using two iPads and two iPhones... Wanting to create a route on any device and send/sync it to any other of the four devices. We are not connected to a PC/Mac so not sure the syncing to a file folder would work. Might need to look into the route sync option.

Thanks for the info and the link above.

Sure. But I don't think you're going to want to buy PC Miler back office just to synchronize routes on your devices. Expensive. But the program is installed on your device memory or on its SD card (depending on the device and how you installed it.) So when you find that "NA/save" folder it will contain your saved routes, miles, truck profiles, etc. And since you have iPhones and iPads you could bluetooth or wifi transfer files between them easily. At least I assume it is about the same as Android or Windows anyway. I don't have any "i-stuff" but I know that Apple also does some cloud snyc thing because it keeps getting celebrity nekkid photos hacked off it in the news.
Maybe someone here more versed in Apple file sending/receiving can give you an app or procedure for that. But it seems like there has to be multiple ways to do it painlessly without buying PC Miler with RouteSync. That program is designed for dispatching many trucks from an office by sending the routes to their devices remotely and you could buy 10 CoPilots for the price of it. (hence why I am reiterting which folder you would find those route files in.)

You are correct. I misread what you said about the route sync feature being tied to the main program. Just thought I could subscribe to that service to sync maps/data between devices via their servers... But ya, not interested in a large purchase for such a simple task. I might contact my company to see if they already use this feature too.

    Thanks.

Sounds exactly what I was thinking of doing too. Do your maps/routes save/sync between devices too or just places? Or is that one in the same?

    Thanks.
