Then decide if you really want to have any part of quoting them as flatbed freight.
I hauled a bunch in the late 90s cleaning out some junkyards. Crusher moved in; did it's thing, we hauled them to the port......they were shredded dockside and the metal conveyed into a ship. That was before the new regs, and I was much younger and hungrier LOL........now I'm just thirsty.
Do flats mind hauling crushed cars?

The 2 times I hauled them as a company driver.. both times I was targeted by rolling DOT and told to follow the officer to an inspection area.
As a company driver it was a pita.. as an O/O now.. I would not want them on my deck.
Personally.. I think the OP will be fine getting trucks to haul them. People do things that I dont want all the time. Everyone has their thing. Years back in the early 90's I knew a husband and wife that all they did was haul crushed cars locally.

Its like hauling for cheap. I cringe and hold my ground until the bitter last minute. But those loads get done all the time.
With an aluminum deck on my trailer.. I'd rather haul dozers than crushed cars.

There it is. Either a dedicated crushed car trailer or a dump trailer is about what it reads to me. Walking floors would be risky for floor damage and leakage IMOHurst and KenworthGuyNH Thank this. -

Crushed cars are cheap freight that gets you out out of bad areas. Drove Flatbed for 2 years and I had 2 kind of loads I never took:
Onions
Crashed Cars
Not only Crashed Cars are dangerous (parts can fly even if you have a net over them) but you need longer chains than normal in order to secure the load.
That is personal opinion though and since I drove a flatbed I went back to dry because rates on flat started to suck. and on dry I haul coils or tractors, and on flat they tried to put cardboard boxes.... and people think that a tarp is ment to secure the load not to protect it from rain!
Thank you for your post you are right to ask!
