(Particularly ignorant folks. . .)
I used to carry my own squeegee, so I am totally with you on this. Never washed my windshield from a truck stop bucket. Carried one bottle with mixture of water and Dawn, and a second (much larger) bottle of "rinse water." Spray the soap on, give it a few minutes, then dampen the squeegee with the water and scrub it. Then rinse it and squeegee it dry. Had one with a telescoping handle that was real nice.BostonTanker Thanks this. -
I haven't used a truckstop squeegee in years, some good glass cleaner and some microfiber towel will clean the windshield right up. It also helps to use a good cleaner wax on the windshield before bus season starts, helps them not "Stick" to the glass as easy.

I posted this thread about 1 1/4 years ago... My first bug season....
I have settled on glass cleaner in a spray bottle with a good distance spray... I douse the windshield from the ground and let it soak a few minutes. Then climb up and scrub with a 'bug sponge' like the one someone posted a pic of.... Then spray again and wipe with paper towels....
I was looking for an easy way out.... But as usual....the best way usually isn't the easy way.... -
When I stop I use glass cleaner spray my windows and it works real good. I never use rain X it leaves a film on the glass.

Add a pint of white vinegar to your reservoir filled with water. The wipers will take the bugs off with just a squirt of the washer and a few strokes of the wipers. Years ago, there was a brand name in the truck stops, can't remember the name, but the ingredients were vinegar and water. $0.99 a quart for the vinegar at Wally World...
