Is that even legal? is being a truck driver probable cause for a search, or did we just give up that right at some point? I can understand cargo inspections but there's no way i'd let someone go through my personal space/stuff like that.

I didn't argue or debate it, I've nothing to hide anyway, it happened in Texas, if border patrol can do it why couldn't he or other dot officers ?

Think of over the yrs what officers have found in trks that shouldn't be there.I don't see anything wrong with a search but unless you give them reason, they won't search your trk.

    No, its not legal.
Just another example of why truck driving has become the bottom of the barrel. We have drivers who dont stand up for themselves or their rights. They bend over and take it every time.

Then he has two (legal) choices. First, he can let you go on about your business. Or he can detain you while he tries to get a search warrant, which he would need PC to do.
Of course, he can pretty much do what he wants and falsify his report, and perjur himself in court. These are the a-wholes that give all cops a black eye...

There wasn't any rhyme or reason to search.. it was a random.. have any of you ever seen trucks with border patrol going through it.. ? I have..

Are you sure it's illegal to search on a federal level ? Have you seen the the signs at shippers and receivers stating no firearms or weapons and they have the right to search your vehicle ?

    Big Don Thanks this.
