    That may have been the case years ago, but all linehaul at R+L is handled through central dispatch in the corporate office.

    So that is at least one aspect of favoritism that has been eliminated.

    I would go Old D or ABF... only downside to ABF is the new hire vacation policy... 2 years working before you get any vacation

    I just spoke to an R & L driver and he told me he only drives about 250 miles a day doing linehaul ..
    He said he is lucky to get a 600 mile run once or twice a week.

    I work for YRC as a city driver here on Long Island and there pay, equipment, and joke of a pension suck! I'm lucky if i bring home $600-650 a week, and that's with 5-8hrs OT

    Try looking into Carlisle Carriers, there regional home every weekend!? You will never net $1000 a week doing ltl anywhere dude. Even here on LI. Forget the Big Companies, or Maybe NEMF(New England Motor Freight)

    I was netting $1000 a week pretty regularly with both of the ltl companies I have worked/work for.

    I have no idea where Wilkes Barre is, but here in Chicago you can run until you die.
