Its all about lots and lots of miles if you can get around 3500 miles per week @ .32 per mile you will make $58 000 before tax obviously if you are paid more cents per mile and do more miles your income is going to be alot higher.

Some of those that have been there for a while are a pain to get into with a day cab and a 48.

Thankfully, new ones are being built with bigger lots.

I feel sorry for anyone who truly believes "it's all about the miles"; and is working for .32 CPM. This "more miles" thing has been preached too long and too loud. Ain't where it's at folks.

    Dumdriver and MJ1657 Thank this.

Whats the suggestion? here You're basically saying "Don't be inexperienced. Get hired on to a company that only hires experienced drivers"

Well ideally we'd all love to drive for 50c per mile and only do 1000 miles a week however hands up all the companies that are willing to do that.

There are companies that are not the mega slave drivers that hire inexperienced drivers. You won't find them from behind a keyboard or on a smart phone.

How do you find them? There are a few larger companies I am looking to work for, but if that don't work out, I am going to have to find one of these places. So what does it take? Phonebook? Truckstop?

Working for trucking companies is kinda of like buying a car you hear lots of good things about the brand and lots of bad things in the end you have to weight up this fact, can you cope with the bad? because all of them will have some kind of technique or method you won't agree with however some companies seem have more faults than others you hear one driver really running down a company and yet at the same time another will be praising it so what gives? Is one lying or both? the truth is their probably both telling the truth. Its just that one driver has had a really good run the other hasn't, kinda like fish swimming in the ocean the ones swimming towards a net get caught the ones on either side of it get to live another day.
