If you have a clean record they'll consider and give you a honest look at 1 year. We've gotten a few on with a year. It's case by case. Advance is a relatively new DC so we're still in staff up mode for the next year or so. After that it'll be harder to get in.
I've been here a year and a half haven't missed a weekend home yet. Average 3079 miles a week and tracking to do low 70's this year.
Truckload does 60-70k and LTL does 70-90k but they earn every penny of it lol
looking for a good local or regional company based in NC

Ok cool yea I'll definitely put in a app at my 1 year mark. I'll be at a 1 year in January. Do both division get weekends off. Is it in on Friday and back out on Sunday
-
Leave sometime Sunday get in midday Friday or leave sometime Monday get in midday Saturday. Varies depending on what's going on. Pretty wide windows on a lot of loads and can park at most locations so you can control the time you leave to a good degree. You'll get the occasional in Friday out Monday. Home time is best during the summer June-August that's our slow time of the year but I still did 27-2900 a week over the summer. We just started back up big time I can tell summer is bout over lol
LTL gets better home time but again they earn it. They can get through the house during the week some weeks as well but they're also home weekends.Last edited: Sep 4, 2015

Cool other than Ashley what would be some good companies around Greensboro for regional home time

If your a young guy, foodservice is worth it. I'd try the Sheetz outfit if Ashley doesn't work out. I worked at Sysco for 8 years out of Philadelphia. Trust me when I say you have a shelf life when you fingerprint everything. Best of luck.

I only have personal experience with Epes. They treated me fairly well while I was there. I know lonelyguy personally he's still there and doing fairly well. The reason I left was because the Ashley gig is much better and literally fell into my lap when I wasn't expecting it.
Old dominion is another good one if you're looking for quality and they do hire students/low time drivers.
Stay away from hilco and rothrock. I know guys personally that went there and it wasn't good.
If you can do team driving Cooke and hardy brothers out of my airy do west coast turns. Out and back then off a couple days. Never heard anyone say anything bad about them. They sounded good when they recruited out of my school and their drivers seem satisfied but I just can't do teams -
I know Flying is home EVERY weekend....as I ####-chat with him personally during the week! But, the reason I didn't say Ashley is because they really DO want at least 2 years experience. I know OD hires, as long as you have ALL endorsements, around 1 year, if I'm not mistaken. Cargo uses in cab driver cams...on DRIVER AND ROAD! Not degrading any company, but was at the fuel island this morning, and a Cargo guy walks up and says, how do you like this POS? I said, what...my company or the truck? He said both. I said, well....I don't mind 63 mph, but a) I make more than you(top pay is 44 cpm, like us, but anywhere above the pa/md stateline it's 10 cents more per mile! Better than Cargo) and b) I'm not micro managed through a stupid camera watching me drive. He didn't like that too well.....but did say, he didn't have a cam in his truck. OK so why was it that when I left...there was his truck with a big bar in front of the passenger window with a HUGE camera on it then? lol
