I will always leave my window open several inches or take my keys. They put me in a 2014 579 pete. One morning I got out to do my pre trip, went to get back in and found the door had locked. Come to find out Peterbilts one of the many electrical issues on these trucks is the door locks have a tendency to activate. The only thing that saved me that day was the truck was running and the window was open about an inch. I got a winch strap and forced the hook into the window and was able to hit the window button to lower it more.

Twice now someone at the fuel isle that was driving a prostar like mine have asked me to unlock their doors. Both times they had locked themselves out with the engine running and both times my key worked.

Ok, facing the lock, theres a ring circlip that you can dig out with a pocket knife all easy and damage free. normally.
The whole lock cylnder will come out into your hand like a untapered turd, or 'lincoln log' if your east coast...
Then you can unlocker no prob -
During lock outs boys, the secret is, always think of 'how much glass is left in door when window is up."..
Theres always an easy tool you can make that'll snake in and press a button, or pull a knob etc etc...
Glass Left in door=3/4 inch
Bend mad in hanger=3.4 inch
You now have a finger in!!!! viola!!! -
