I worked at a Maxxforce company...I wouldnt do it...They made all the holes in the emissions components too small!!
All of our 2012-13 maxxforces were messed up..No power for hills, check engine light always on..Hated em, Turbo's start sounding bad at 150k...Big lawsuits went down over that engine and the loss of revenue due to repairs...
We had 2 ISX's, much different, much better -
My brief experiences with them were not good. DPF problems. I drove two different trucks with that engine and both of them were pulling me off the road for parked regens two or three times a day at the worst point. Power was way down on them too. I would stick with Cummins on an EPA motor.

Sad thing is back in the day,.. International and Mack were probably 2 of the best trucks you could buy. I've driven a few of the 70's models with hoods and old Detroits in them. Not the most powerful truck on the road,.. but you couldnt kill it. They took what ever you have to throw at them and kept on going.
Old Macks with the 300 and 400 engines were the same. Just kept going,.. owner after owner after owner.
Sad state of affairs when new truck cost so much to purchase and then costs you more just to keep it running.
I'll stick with my CAT. Expensive,.. but they go the distance. Mine should be good for another million before I have to touch anything again. Rest of my truck,.. I dont know,.. LOL

I haven't had any issues and knock on wood they're doing great.
They run OTR so I'm not seeing the issues of the older MF's. There was to big of a difference in the prices that attracted me.
The only issue I have is getting them into a dealer for recals.
Dealers are open M-F 8 to 5. I've not seen the service with International as I've with Pete.
Hope it helps. -
Just got out of a 2012 prostar with the Maxxforce 13 engine. Worst truck I've ever driven. Truck spent more time in the shop than on the road. Spend the money on the Cummins.

I drove a few at a prior gig. They were set at 425/1350, max 1600 rpm. Quiet, smooth on highway, but absolutely NO power, and the jake was the least effective I've ever used. I've got a feather-light foot, and I couldn't get better than 5 mpg out of a 2012 Prostar hauling a reefer, between 65k-75k gross outbound and empty back to the yard.
We had assigned trucks, so I was the only driver, and I had zero issues with it (was assigned it brand new, put 120K on it myself). The next driver after I quit wasn't so lucky. It blew a turbo on him in Ontario on a weekend.
Wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. -
