It sounds amazing. Much better than what I was used to. Started with a pumpkin truck, did primarily NE. Then went to Bonded Carriers, still managed to get stuck in NE 90 percent of the time. And as far as the camera goes? I could care less as long as someone isnt using it to look at my naked, hairy ### when I first wake up. Might break the camera.

So, with you being a trainer, does the 1-3 weeks thing sound right? Also, not real sure on how the refresher driver is paid.

The 1-3 weeks is correct. I think the refresher pay is $700 p/w. As a trainer, if I see you have it, it'll be more like a week, if you are rusty it might take 3 weeks. It would also be my job to get you acclimated to policies and procedures.

Excellent. Sounds great. I'm not totally rusty, as I drive firetrucks when the need arises around here, so I'm still used to large vehicles, and double clutching, although from what I've heard, everything is an automatic there, so that will be a little different for me. I learned to drive on an old Pete with a 13 speed (when my dad was still driving, he's a disabled vet now,) and drove 10 speeds for about all of my official driving career, with a brief stint as a yard jockey.

And the main thing I think I'll have to get used to will be the eLogs and the new HOS changes. I used to do my logs on a sweet little piece of software called Driver's Daily Log on my laptop when I last drove.

Made it to the Richmond yard at 12:15 this afternoon, at 1pm I was hooked to my new load, fueled up and out the gate headed to Modesto California for Monday. Be safe all.

Although I am not a ham operator, I would be curious to learn more.
