It doesn't HAVE to be, if more people would stop accepting it.

White Dog: Enjoying 2 days off for every 5 days out. Yep...a regular work week.

    Are you married?
Any serious commitments holding you down?
As a young man I suggest you worry less about home time and more about getting experience. Pay your dues for a couple of years then make the jump to get more home time or local work.

Remember old age and treachery trump youth and exuberance.

You might want to check out Boyd Brothers. If you want to be home weekly, your home weekly.

Not a bad idea! Just looked at Boyd's web site, and it says:
And Boyd has a better reputation than most (on these boards any way).

Last time I looked at cypress they don't do leases. All company trucks. Their pay seemed a bit low but everyone I saw seemed happy there.

Oh for the love of God!!! Why even fart around? Just Lease straight out of the gate. They are supposed to be the best of the best....and there is no way possible you can fail. NONE! Go for it.

Don't think you will get a new truck. You will get a truck related to the amount of experience you have. Yes you will run run run. They keep you loaded. Most of the time trailer is pre loaded. Just tighten up trap / straps and roll out. But tarp pay is very low (live loading) part of the job. And great exercise anyways. And if you want to stay out no problem. I ran southeast . But you can ask to go further west .
