I had a random drug and alcohol test done about ten days ago. I asked if I needed to inform them about my prescriptions. The lady said no. If something shows up them we will ask you to provide the prescriptions.

On second thought Wcampbell86, these two posts might be a better idea overall.Last edited: Sep 13, 2015
Wcampbell86 Thanks this. -
The posters that said not to discuss this are correct, you do not have to bring this up with an employer as they have nothing to do with it. You do not even talk to the people that are doing the test when you are peeing in a bottle, they do not want to hear it. The only person that you have to talk to is the MRO " Medical Review Officer " and that's IF a test comes back positive, If the MRO does not call after the test then all is good.
bottomdumpin, Wcampbell86, Mudguppy and 2 others Thank this. -
Full disclosure is always important. Don't start your career out by lying to them. Because if they ever find out, you can and probably will be terminated.
Wcampbell86 and pattyj Thank this. -
If his medical condition IS INDEED behind him, and he passes a drug test, there is no way the carrier has access to his medical records. Disclose with the the physician doing the physical if you are uncertain you'll test positive. Otherwise you're honestly not obligated to tell the carrier anything.
If the physician sees a problem with your condition, or the drug you were prescribed they will contact you to discuss, and then they will contact the carrier.Last edited: Sep 13, 2015

A carrier has to keep a copy of your long form for there records and keep them in your driver file, and again the OP does not have to talk to the physician giving the physical as he/she has nothing to do with a drug test even the clinic has nothing to do with it, all they do is the collection.Wcampbell86 and Mudguppy Thank this.

I am in no way into lying. There is a difference between withholding information and telling someone something that aren't entitled to and saying too much. Get with a medical professional familiar with trucking and do as they say. End of story.

To me, If the prescription was issued yesteryear and no longer in use, it's nobody's business but you and your doctor. If the question arises, consult your doctor. It's not being dishonest at all one way or the other.
If 5 years ago I was in the hospital on pain meds why does anyone need to know unless it's an issue ? Over 10 years ago I was in the hospital, it was discovered I have an allergic reaction to morphine. Some other pain meds were used. I don't know what they were. I don't remember.. it's never been an issue and I didn't need tell anyone about it til this very momentErick Evans Thanks this. -
Excuse me I misspoke, disclose your concerns with the clinic performing the drug test.
The clinic does have something to do with it if he fails. The clinic must first notify the person that failed, then the company. -
just dont go to a carrier that does hair test
common sense
these truth sayers have nothing in their life they regret or should not disclose?
more like do as i say not as i doErick Evans Thanks this.
