Had an amusing conversation with a swift driver a moment ago. We are both parked at the shipper with little to do.
Part of it was my...interesting...backing job.
There's two ways of backing into the docks. Pull out and around, then back in off the street (kind of a busy street.), or nose in next to the stupidly placed dumpster and turn as tight as you can.
I don't like to back in off of busy streets if it can be avoided. It took some extra maneuvering on my part, but took nosing in next to the dumpster.
They told me to get into dock 9. I looked at the location, laughed, backed it into dock 8 and told them to deal with it. Thankfully they didn't protest, especially after I told them that swifty in door 10 wouldn't be able to get out if I used dock 9.
Told swift that when he got ready to go, I'd detach from my trailer if he needed.
Got 481 miles to go, hopefully (though I really doubt it) I'll make it back to Forest Park. There's a drop and hook waiting to be delivered to a nearby store in Atlanta by 7am tomorrow.
@sshewins
Couldn't tell you exactly how old it is, but it's got a model number of TRC-447.
Edit:
Yep! I was right! Soon as swift nosed forward I knew he wasn't going to be able to get out. I dropped my trailer just as he had his doors sealed.Last edited: Sep 15, 2015

Reloading at the Toy Factory for another state fair stuffed toy run. Dispatch didn't have my confirmation yet and they do afternoon loading appointments anyways so I took advantage and came to the J to take a shower courtesy of the Duo's.
