Couldn't tell you why, but I've always liked the cab over style...

But it's been a tie for those and the old school trucks I think I hear you all refer to as, "long-nose."

Spirit Travel Plaza in Evergreen AL. Knew I would have to get out of the Montgomery area to find parking and as I rolled up on this place I remembered I had stayed in this pretty large lot with ample parking...barring any traffic tomorrow I should be able to get this delivered and get home in time for the football game.

Joliet fer the evenin. Kick in this stop off then meandering up to Elk Grove Village to finish out. Nothing on the radar yet fer a southerly bound load. Ah well, let's see what happens!

These pages are accumulating too quickly... you guys need to take a break here...
Had to leave that FJ in north Salt Lake in a hurry cause dsp got me a load... in WY....
Lots of rain in Salt Lake... accident right in the middle lane...
Load assignment said load was over 45,000 lbs... :biggrin_2552: This truck here is 35,340 lbs with full tanks....
So, before going to the dock, I told loader that I couldn't be that heavy and showed him my scale ticket when empty and with full tanks... He made a quick calculation... and the total would be about 80,100 lbs... :biggrin_2552: Told him, "nope"... can't haul that... :biggrin_25512: My company will not accept it...
So, he decided to remove one pallet...:yes2557: and I am legal... :biggrin_25519:
Supposed to deliver somewhere in Washington state tomorrow before 16:00 local time... But don't think that will be possible... :biggrin_25512: Not enough time...
Now parked on a dirt lot with some other trucks across front of a small truck stop in ID... got here at 22:00 central time and this lot was almost all empty... :yes2557: There's an old broken sign here that says "Cafe"... But don't see any... In any case, this place is soooo much better than FJs and TAs and Pilots... :biggrin_25519: Easy easy out... right in front of the street... :yes2557:
Will have my meal in a few and jump in bed...

    TruckDuo and Vilhiem Thank this.

Parked at my first stop, I wished I had stopped just before I got here. I was teasing the store employees when I was here last that I'd bring coffee with me on my next visit.

I have only been to this store one other time, and didn't realize it was the same store until I got onto the last stretch.

Oh well, I love this drive. :D

Nighttime, windows down, clean air, crisp and a touch of cool. The last 60 minutes are nothing but a two lane road, and at 3am it's completely deserted except for a few stray logging trucks. ...and the occasional handful of deer that stare at me as I go past them.

I'll take this, over an interstate, any day.

Which one is that? The one with Snickers or whatever she calls herself?

Or is that the one with America's other allegedly royal family, the Cardassians?

What the hell is a "honey boo boo"?

Pete you're a cheesehead now it's way past time you come over to the dark side. We have cookies, brats, and an unsullied reputation for not deflating balls and other tomfoolery.
