How are Mack Pinnacles?

Yea ok,a cat350 will outpull a 350 mack or a 400 cummins will smoke a 400 mack for example,anymore you need feel free to hmu as i've driven them all.theres a reason why its got a dog on the hood.

 

I currently run a 2014 Pinnacle (MP8, 10 speed, governed at 65mph) and I'm here to tell you I've dusted O/O's on the grades here in PA with 42,000-45,000 on the deck.

Nothing outworks a Mack.

 

Yea probably running a paccar motor not a 550 isx cummins 2050ft lbs of torque.I run a 500 fitzsgerald 1998 ddec3 in pa and still havent had a mack outpull me let alone a cat or cummins.

 

You can put 3.05 gears behind a 600 HP engine and 6.13 behind a 300 HP engine and the 300 ( every thing else being equal) will beat ya to the top . HP is HP , gearing and torque is where the difference is. I too have driven most everything. And have speced trucks for its job at hand. Get the job done as cheap at the pump as you can. Slapping a logo on the hood does not change physics.

I drove one. It was a day cab though and I was curious if the day cabs and the otr trucks were the same. And from what I read they are different. Because that day cab has to be worse than any truck I've driven.

It was a 2015 10 speed auto. The hood was off center, the seat was too short and I'm only 6'2 but my neck was like 3 inches over the headrest. Turning radius sucked.

I hope they are spec'd better than my day cab rental was.

 

I agree with you on the seat. I'm 6'3, and the seat ends at my shoulders. In fact, the seat is my only major complaint on the truck as a whole. I should pony up the cash and ask if O can install a seat upgrade.....

 

Of course if the rear is that drastically different like i said all things equal cat or cummins will outpull it
