Good Or Bad

I've heard that Stevens has great training. They like you to be out 3-5 weeks at a time. Very good equipment. If you go into the Stevens forum on here you'll get varied opinions on school and company. Just do your research with any company.

 

Some drivers have posted, and one was my neighbor, that they went there because of the super nice trucks, but discovered the paychecks are very small.

I'm only stating what my former neighbor and another guy told me about pay. The problem they had was low miles. Cents-per-mile doesn't mean much if the miles are low. They both said they were dipping into their personal savings account just to survive; they both have a wife.

Jim Palmer Trucking trains and starts their new grads out at .40 cpm + .05 cpm bonus which = .45 cpm.
Earl Henderson Trucking also trains and starts new drivers at .38 cpm with a guarantee of being paid no less than 2100 miles a week whether you run them or not.

I wouldn't decide on a trucking company just because they are in the same state that you live in. Chinatown is the go to guy for great advice.

 

Stevens has recently increased pay for training and grad fleet drivers. I was told yesterday they start out at 0.30cpm now.

 

Wow! Now Earl Henderson Trucking will have to give a raise so they look better; they only start out at .38 cpm.
