    Here's something to consider. It's not much better when you own them yourself and tend to take extra care with stuff like that. I understand the potential for abuse with a big fleet of trailers. On the other hand, when you pound out 100,000 miles a year in all sorts of conditions, stuff breaks. When you're the guy with the solution, you're the one that stays busy while everyone else is waiting.

    Oh I know... My rule of thumb is if I can fix it in an hour or less, I'm fixing it. Emergency maintenance can take upwards of 2 hours to get someone out.

    If it were my trailer, and my truck, "fixing it" becomes my job regardless of what it is. I wouldn't have any ground to stand on.

    It still affects my time though, and being tossed even 10$ after preventing a dispatched call would make me happy.

    I always pride myself on being someone with a solution. I never promise that it's a pretty solution, but you can bet your bottom dollar that it'll do the job. Schneider owns the equipment, but if I don't do what I can to maintain it, nobody makes any money.

    At the absolute least, it's job security and respect from not only other drivers, but also the folks who pay me. I just would like to be thrown a bone for the effort once in a while; after all, I'm not at all required to do most of the fixes I have done.

    Side note:

    I am shocked... Just got a call from dispatch asking if I can train someone. Sounds like he's already passed through Schneider's orientation and the exam. But Monday, I won't be holding the wheel most of the day.

    Well. Guess I better bring some extra boxers next week.

    It's okay. Just because you like strapping stuff down onto big beds and being zip tied doesn't mean we don't like you anymore. :D

    Hey! Somebody had to say it! :biggrin_25521:

    Unbelievable to me this company will call you and smack you on the hand for going 3 minutes over on your 14 but don't give a rat's ### about the shape drivers leave the trailers.

    @sshewins

    Apparently, your "Macgyver did it" trick with jumper cables and a nickel is supposed to work. I'm curious though, I wonder if you could use nickel bars clamped into the clips...

  11. trust me I was debating on stealing my gear under my skateboard and transfer it under this trailer. *sigh*

    Do I get a jacket?

    To much repair work needed after my tire blow out. So I need to make a few bucks to fix the ride. Well if any of my contacts call me, I can shoot you a PM.

    Well if your in Cali I will have a load out of Santa Clara,CA to Taft,CA. Easy money. To bad I won't be under my board.

    Hey. I have pretty much all that in my side box. I took my welder out. Lol
