I have two in my storage... I cook old style... on the burner... I cook real brown rice... not that Uncle stuff full of chemicals and who knows what else....
Buy rice in bulk at health food store enough for 3 months on the road... and cook it in the portable black box/stove... it takes a little over one hr but that's ok... Cooking veggies on the burner is faster than in the portable stove... but not as clean... would be great to use a steamer in the truck but it would get all wet inside... not a good idea... I've seen some cooking devices on TV that cook stuff in few minutes... using light, heat and air... can't remember the name of it...RedForeman and chopper103in Thank this. -
I don't have time to comment much further... will try to catch up with y'all tomorrow...
This is where I am now..
truck stop in WY..
Hey.. was going to ask if anybody here knows if that Niagara place in Aurora is open on Sundays... but never mind.... will not be able to read the answers....
Their phones are worthless... you try to get any info and it's impossible...
They tell you to press a number to reach a plant and when you do, you get disconnected... That's a family business since the 60's.... sounds like it's time for them to update their phone messages....
My laptop is an aggravation today.... freezing up... already had to turn off and on 3 times...
Gotta go now... take care y'all...HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, peterbilt_2005, ncmickey and 1 other person Thank this. -
Oh well best laid plans and stuff......
Starter died @ the TA in Corning. Snap ring broke holding the gear on. They had one in stock so just got it replaced. So much for a night @ home. Will settle for a lunch with the wife.
One advantage of this TA. The permanent Villarta Roach Coach across the street. The place has a constant stream of both truckers and locals.
Will get trailer pics when I pick it up. On the outside it is a generic white box. Having them install front and rear vents and hazmat placard holders. -
@Rocks which of the little black stoves are you using for rice? I had the popcorn pot. But it died a horrible death.Last edited: Sep 20, 2015

I figure the least I can do is help others be conscious about their health!
It's official. I now have a vacation week all booked up. We wanted a cruise, so my fiancée got a cruise. Looking forward to a little r&r. It's been a while since I've had a real vacation.
G'night folks. Been s good a productive day, but it's time to be productive in another way. Asleep on the bed. Somebody's gotta count those sheep!Last edited: Sep 20, 2015
