What is the dock? Will the new maps work on the 720? -
And yes the new maps will work. You will need to get a Micro SD Card minimum of 8gb and at least a class 10. It will have a 10 in the writing. A 4 will work, but the higher the class the faster the data transfer.

Just got the map update for my 730.
Now it behaves very erratically and takes horrible routs.
For instance, if I want to go from Main St in Ripon, CA, to an address on Hewitt Rd in Linden, CA, all you need to do is take CA99/Jack Tone RD/HWY 4/Hewitt RD.
The unit will tell me CA99 to Milgeo.
I pass Milgeo.
It rerouts to Yosemite (HWY 120 E)
I ignore that and Jack Tone anyway.
It starts rerouting onto tiny side streets that I cannot even fit on.
I ignore that and go all the way to HWY 4 and turn right.
Hewitt Rd is now 6 miles in a straight line from me.
It starts to rerout again.
The closer I get to Hewitt, the more it rerouts and by the time I get 2 miles from my destination, it comes up with a 34 mile detour that goes to who know were.
That is just one example, but a good one.
None of my settings have changed.
I have checked thoroughly.
It also rerouts when I am stopped at lights preparing to turn on to the street right in front of me.
Like it thinks I have passed the turn.
Most of my routs I already know, but there always be ones I do not know.
I can't have this unit behaving like that.
Any suggestions?

You are on what version?
I have been running the new maps for awhile and I have not run across this issue.
How did you download the maps - high speed internet or Wi-Fi?

Was this a route that previously worked?
Try changing your trailer to 48' -- most roads in CA aren't legal for STAA trucks and RM assumes every 53' trailer is part of a STAA combination. Or maybe there could be a weight restriction on Jack Tone -
Cannot say "assumes", a setting of 53'/102", 53', or 102" will default to STAA as these are STAA dimensions.

In the Western half of the United states, overall length is what matters -- not trailer width or length. In fact, a 57 foot long, 102 inch wide trailer is legal for nearly every CA road, provided the overall length is under 65' (e.g. pulled by cabover). That combination is legal in most of the Southwest.
But RM does not have an overall length setting, so a short tractor (cabover or day cab) pulling a 53' trailer will be needlessly routed on STAA routes in California, New Mexico, Arizona, Oregon, etc...
The work-around is to set it at 48' 96" -- but in doing so you should know that in some other states -- mostly on the eastern half of the US -- a 53' trailer is not legal off STAA routes regardless of overall length (mostly north east).
As far as 102" vs 96" width -- New Jersey is the only state that cares as far as I know (might be on the books elsewhere in the NE but I never hear it enforced).Last edited: Sep 21, 2015

You are correct, but in the map data the trailer length and width are what the program has to go by. The map segments are where the trailer length and width are put in and this is determined by what the state allows for that section of road.
