Just got dispatched on a 16 mile trip to Ontario?
Back to compton, then off to laredo...but theyll have to wait till wednesday.
That grand national was a nice car for its time, but a cheap copy of the cars, with a real frame and ride.Camaro of 71-79 was the first car with cad.
Transitioned cheap unibody construction, with front sub frame,to support engine.
The full frame cars, especially the full size models, rode so beautifully.
I had an 87 Monte, same basic car as the gn..looked nice, but had a cheap feeling ride.

i cannot remember all the details, and i'd have to google, but i do believe Ralph Nader did not kill the Covair, but the Mustang did. Ole Ralph had a hand in it of course. when i get the time, i'll search for the demise of the Corvair.

Funny you bring that up. It's what my son spends most of his earnings and free time on. This one is his and recently just finished. One of the many reasons the neighbors about break their necks being nosy when driving past my house.

He wrote the book, and sued GM.Was responsible for all the safety crap,we have today.Thats why all the cars, look the same, headlight height and stupid other regulation.
Air bags were available in 1975..Nobody bought them.
Watched the crash test folks on tv,pull a 75 impala with air bags, from a junk yard.
They crash tested it..and it deployed perfectly..not bad for a 40 year old car.
Car guys back then, were real engineers...not the pencil pushing computer geeks of today.

I could never afford a nice paint job,my cars were always mechanically sound, new front end parts,tires.engine.
Just dont understand the terrible ride, stance, and wheels.
