Khakis and polo is fine, just bring a pair of jeans and t shirt or whatever for pre trip and road test. They will let him change if he chooses to.

Two questions: I saw on this thread where they ask you for your medication list. How can they ask you that due to HIPPA regulations it seems to be a privacy thing? Is the Doctor asking during your physical? Just curious...
Also, when they are doing the employment verification does anyone know what they are asking? My DH last employer is real "bugger" and I wouldn't be surprised if they said something to hinder his ability to get another job. Also, it is his right to get a copy of his safety record, correct? They are saying its not. I'd appreciate the insight. Thanks!

You're being asked to disclose what mess you take so they can make sure they are allowable for a driver and per Walmart policy. And if you don't tell them and something shows up on your drug test, you're toast. The privacy laws do not protect you from questions on an employer application.

As for what a previous employer can divulge, by LAW they can only confirm he worked there and the time span. They can't LEGALLY say derogatory things about him. They might, but it's a big chance they take. So I wouldn't worry too much about that.

    Hope this helped.

The reason is because Walmart is following existing Federal regulations under §382.213.

Thanks Jim and Tom! I was just curious because at my job we can't ask such questions, but I'm not driving a lethal weapon either! LOL

I would hope his ex-employer wouldn't do anything that nasty but honestly they were awful to him while he was working there so I don't put anything past them. Someone told me to call and ask for reference and see what they say just so we would know. I may just do that so we are not taken by surprise.
This forum is such a wealth of information! You guys rock!!

Hi everyone! My name is Ron and I've been following this thread all the way through and heeding all of the advice that you guys have put on here and like it has been for many others, for me its proven to be invaluable. I've been lurking in the shadows gleaning whatever insights that I could and now I find myself two weeks past successfully completing my pre trip/road test and awaiting my background investigation to say "competitive", which it will because my history is clean and I've been open and upfront about everything, but now I find that the waiting and the anticipation is just as it has been described many many times before in this forum. I'll be running out of the Lagrange, GA DC and I am looking forward to coming aboard and hopefully meeting many of you at some point down the road! :) I can't wait!
