If you don't like the detention and shower arrangements, change your job. If you can't do any better than the job you have now, I'm not sure how you deserve better. The better, more experienced drivers don't have your problems.

Rank I'm glad you think I'm some 20 yr old whipper snapper and why I might be new at interstate commerce I have spent 15 years moving 130k lbs class a low boys all over nj for a state agency. My experience quite honestly puts me as the most experienced driver at my current place of work I'm also the youngest by 10 years. If you don't want to change that's fine I hope you enjoy all those foreign and illegals coming here not knowing a lick of English and rolling 80k. Something I'm sure you have seen continuing to head in that direction in all your years on the road and why because the average American doesn't respect the job. I love what I do BUT it doesn't mean I find it perfect by any stretch and if I feel we could make it better for everyone why not air your gripe? To me it seems like your on the I give up faze. Maybe I'm not the one who has lost the passion for the job.

Unsure why after 15 yrs if heavy haul experience you're dragging a van , waiting 10 hrs for free and can't get a shower but none of my business. A good carpenter/contractor doesn't bother complaining about the homeowner. He just finds better homeowners to work for. ... If he can

If you're a contractor, then you are a business. Bill then for your detention time. If they don't pay find a better customer. Business 101.

You moved 130,000 pound loads working for the gov for 15 years for a measly $36,000/year?? I bet the heavy haul guys are all laughing at you ...

+1. Not to mention he should be able to get work at a heavy haul company without going to dry van freight. Ugghh that would give me a rash.

As I said in another thread, my lawn guy makes more than 35k. Anyone driving a truck for lawn care wages only has themselves to blame.

To be honest I probably could go straight to heavy haul but I want to try everything and decide what I wanna do. Rank is it hard waking up everyday already knowing you are earth's super trucker?
