Take brks when you like just make sure you're not late to your delivery. That could be why its like pulling teeth because ontime performance is very critical in this industry.

There are companies that literally give you days of cushion for your appt. I talked to drivers in companies like that and they were just chillin. Shouldve done your research OP.

Days of cushion and some take advantage of it.Me I always liked to get as close to customer as possible before taking brks.

to begin with do you really need a 30....?
the only reason I take a 30 is because it's required
before it was required I would drive 3-4hr's stop piss/coffee 15min...... drive 3-4hrs stop piss/coffee 15min...... drive the rest of my 10-11hrs.....
new drivers have it so EZ,

Thanks for the replies folks. They helped. Nothing against those that drive non stoo without taking a break, but you have to have to have respect for your self and body. Looking at truck stops you can see that many truckers dont take care of themselves. Im not talking about being a truck stop cowboy, but yes a short get out and stretch btesk every few hours shouldnt be unreasonable. I agree not a good idea to mske waves with the trainer, but dont wish to burn out either. Company has orientation 52 weeks a year for a reason. As far as companies that literally give you days of cushion for app. Are they training companies? From what ive learned the megas run students as teams and run hard. That has been my experience thus far as well. .

Oh you're a student, trainers are on this go go go kick.Just take a brk anyway tell him you're going to do a walk around and need to stretch .But don't make it too much of a habit. The longer you're in training the more your trainer will ecspect you to drive.I would drive like 150 miles take a brk another 150 miles brk so on and so forth.

Definitely try to stop every couple of hrs. Even if you don't need anything. I got a blood clot in the leg from driving all the time. And I'm only 32
