Stopped at the Love's in Eloy, AZ for my 30 min. Truck parked next to me took off with a shredded tire. Hopefully she's on her way to the Petro.

My father in law is loading at Pepsi in Nashville, TN going to Kansas City. The scheduled delivery time is 8am tomorrow but given that the scheduled pick up wasn't until 7pm tonight, I'm not sure what they're smoking, especially since he's already eaten up more than half his 14 hours already.

They already have him picking up the regular Pro Trans load that comes back to El Paso out of Kansas city and considering that load isn't usually ready until 5pm, getting up there for an AM delivery seems kind of dumb.

Oh wait, this is dispatch I'm talking about, lol!!!

Maybe she wanted break down pay. Someone here posted a story that they'd have to leave the truckstop then "breakdown" to be paid. If they were broke down at the shop they would not be paid. Dumb..I know.

That happened to one of my former students. He had a problem truck that kept breaking down or having issues. Finally it derated to 50mph and didn't get better. They put pressure on him get it back to the yard I kept telling him to stay put make them get it to a shop.

He brought it on in then sat at home for 4 days while they 'fixed' it. He asked about breakdown pay then they told him since he was down at the yard breakdown didn't apply.

Tried to tell him. When he left the yard on the 5th day and it did the same thing 200 miles out it was a different story lol

I picked up carpets there that a company up in Boston bought and rented out for conventions.

In Dalton, GA. Was there all day. At least the abandoned shopping center nearby didn't prohibit truck parking as I was out of hours.

Back in a former life I was a flooring sales rep. Mohawk was my favorite company to deal with because they liked to hire very attractive female sales reps who knew how to take care of their clients.

Guys, this kid needs your help. He graduated from his trucking school with honors so all these companies are lining up around the block to hire him. Maybe you drivers with experience can offer him some solid advice and congratulate him for his outstanding performance at CDL school.

    Jasmine calls me.

"Dad it's storming really bad and they issued a tornado watch for El Paso. Should Lily and I stay home from ballet?"

"Yeah I don't want you girls out in the street since El Paso people can't drive when it's dry."

    "OK dad!"
