Sounds good RogerThat! I was able to talk very briefly with a QC driver the other day on the radio...very brief, I had to exit! He was out of the Bristol (union) terminal. He has been there a while and is happy. QC puts $200 in your pension every week...New drivers start on the bottom of the list (obviously) shorter runs but weekends off and sleep in their own bed a couple times a week...That's really all I know for now......Thanks for the input from everyone so far!

nice, I'll bring a pen and paper with me and write my questions down. The medical benefits are basically paid for too. I'm going to be doing OTR but even that is 10-14 days out before home time.

RogerThat, how much experience do you need to have for QC in Albany?

Maybe I can answer a few of your questions about QC in Bristol. I talked to the TM last week. His name is bill and seems like a real straight shooter on the phone. Pay is as follows
    40.5 cpm loaded and empty
    20 for loading and unloading.
Pays 1/4 of an hour pay to pre and post trip and do all of your paperwork.
    Insurance is $33 a week
A few more things that I don't remember. Bill sounded like he was very anal about the upkeep of the equipment so I would expect that everything is in very nice condition. Starting off on the bottom sounded to me like you would do a lot of back and forth to Columbus, OH which paid a little over $400 a round. If you can do 3 of those a week you would have a pretty nice paycheck and plenty of time at home. Hope that helps

    1833 Jar-head Thanks this.

Thanks for the info Skinny. I briefly talked to Bill right after I posted this thread. He was ready to hire me but I decided to stay where I'm at for the time being. If I decide to leave where I'm at I will definitely go to Quality! Thanks again

My daughter is a junior in high school and when she graduates I plan to relocate to another area and QC in Bristol is high on my list. Did you gain anymore info when you talked to him that I may have left out?

You pretty much covered all of it. I'd have to go to Joliet for the training...I think he said it was a week long...He also mentioned the Columbus run. Guys with seniority pick the longer runs, Like leave out of Bristol and go to Laredo.
I pass the Bristol terminal almost everyday... I do believe they get their drivers home on the weekends so that is a good sign! Bill told me I'd get home atleast a couple times during the week and get back early Friday and leave out on Sunday.
I'll keep you updated if I decide to make the big move!
