So... company set up a pre trip for us drivers here... they put some things on the truck and trailer for us to find during a pre trip... and evaluated our performance.
I am soooooo psssed.... I missed10 things that I would normally not miss....
Throughout my trucking "career" I have moved from truck to truck and driven 14 trucks so far... And I always check all those things... WHY did I miss them this time.... I'm very frustrated...
Here is the list of things I missed:
Horns (service and air)
Emergency equipment (skipped the whole compartment)
Loose lug nut on one trailer tire
Annual inspection sticker on trailer was outdated
Air lines were entangled and touching the cat walk
Reflective strip on top of tractor was missing
One DOT red light back of tractor was missing
One locking pin on the sliding tandem rail was blocked
Trailer brake needed adjustment (actuator rod was too way out on one side)
They told me not to make it a big deal... that evaluation was only for "training" purposes... and some very experienced drivers here missed 15 things...Well... but I don't care about other drivers...
My only "comfort" is that I generally check those things and I would have checked all those if I were moving into another truck... And I will beef up my inspections from now on...
And then, they asked me to drive around... all the way to Pilot... they do that once a year with every driver... said they get discount on their insurance....
The driving went uneventful... thankfully... but I had no trailer...
And one driver brought his cute alarm clock... cute thing...
And company gave me another bag with goodies... It looks just like the same they gave me last Driver's Appreciation Week...
Just a little more this time...
Got a bunch of cookies, and granola bars, and other munch stuff.... which I may give away to folks at truck stops...
Oh... yeah, they are working on the truck...HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, TruckDuo, Vilhiem and 1 other person Thank this. -

@peterbilt_2005 and I ran together into the Seattle metro area. Stopped really quick at the North Bend TA and it was packed at 10am. Mostly because they've made half the parking lot "reserved".

And dispatcher here was telling me they are having hard time getting loads that pays more than $1.20... other day had to take a load paying $1.05 to get driver out of the area... Said JB Hunt, Werner and such were taking a group of 25 loads for $0.99 cpm...
