Well glancing at the board and needing to get to Texas this weekend I will just bounce empty down to Raphine and grab that load to Laredo. Better to stay on that one then the crumbs on the load board that barely covers fuel

 

Think about it for a second. They roll up the sidewalks at 10 pm, as if they've forgotten what business they're in. They're extremely overpriced, even in the "convenience" industry. The quick serve restaurants charge more than the Pilot and Love's and always have less choices at them. This $20 coffee cup, where you can get free refills till the end of the year? Really? PFJ has one for $1.99 (that's free if you use your points) and has $1.19 refills forever (free, once again if you use your points). I could go on about the giagantic pile of horse dung that TA is but you get the picture.

 

Yes... it's their lot... they can do whatever they want.... I'm afraid other truck stops may follow this same trend in the future...
In Brasil, there are not as many truck stops as here and most are very small, the biggest ones can't accommodate more than 30 trucks... and one has to be a regular customer, fuel there on a regular basis or have an account with them to be able to park there... However, HOS are not followed and/or enforced in that country...
Here, we would need to have more available parking at every possible place.... some ramps, scale stations, all open and closed rest areas...

 

I'm gonna have to agree. TA/Petro can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned. Even there restaurants are starting to close at 2300 now and at least PFJ keeps some sort of hot menu available 24/7. And their points rewards system is the absolute worst

 

I CONGRATULATE you for that! But I bet they don't give a CRAP... As long as drivers agree to pay and jam in their parking lot...

 

Denny's is 24 hours, as most of their restaurants are. Very few are not open 24 hours, and they don't charge a premium for being there. You can get the food at the same price as you would if it weren't in a truck stop. Also talking to them, the longest you can keep hot food out is 4 hours. Pilot/Flying J throws it out after 3 hours. That's their rule. Not 10 plus hours like TA.
