Yeah, too bad it isn't a CAT- I never have any problem with it (unless I drive it).
After trip PM, more oil in it than when I left- that's not right.
Big leak at the injector coil.

A lot of that going on. Not just in auto manufacturing.

For example Mrs Buttersworth had a plant in Ny that made 80% of all their maple syrup. I took a load that carried away their big stainless vats because they moved production to Maylasia. More American jobs gone.

Used to be I was hauling things to build plants and businesses. Now I mainly haul whats left after the vultures have picked through everything.

If we dont want to see more Ford or GM plants close down... we need to do our part to support American jobs.

I try my best to make sure what I buy is an American product. I make an effort to inspect everything I buy. Those toy cars and other tourist gifts the truck stops sell... all made in China. Why buy that junk when there are better American made things?

Not saying I dont buy imported things... I like a good german dark lager beer lol.. but if I can find an American item I would rather buy that instead.

I don't see how Americans are sheep because they buy foreign vehicles. We would be sheep if we, say, bought American vehicles just because they are American and we viewed that as the American patriot thing to do.

If one of the major American manufactures made the best midsize truck it would be in my driveway. But they don't and their reliability has been spotty for years if you wish to keep a vehicle beyond the warranty.

I'll support my country. I'll support the government. I'll support hardworking Americans trying to get ahead. But "the big three" are multinational companies that no longer employ my family or put food on our tables. Those jobs disappeared when they realized the men south of the border could do it cheaper. When these American companies starting taking record profits and stopped paying its workers a better salary. That's big business in America for you. And it would've happened regardless if I bought a Toyota or a Colarado.

I'll buy American when they make the superior product. Until then, my tax dollars will help out GM.

These kind of arguments remind me how i don't miss working at a dealership. It was at times a daily event.

I've been passionate about the auto industry since I was born. My family has lived it since the early 60s. I love the American pride. But I also love being an American and practicing that free market economy we got.

The only thing I miss about it is some of the great people I worked with and the fat pay checks.

The not sleeping at night worrying about work for years made the fat pay checks not worth it after awhile.

do they pay car salesman a base salary on top of commission? I always see the salesman just hanging out not doing much and cant imagine being so leisure if I wasn't making any money

Lots of different ways they pay them but most of them are straight commission.

I don't know how most of them put food on the table. They will make a bunch of money one month and nothing the next. There are some good ones but most are chasing some wild dream of riches. I don't know how they do it.

I was fixed operations. I had a base salary plus commission and a demo to drive.
