I get 4 years out of a set of batteries O'Reilly's store brand. Heavy duty and I don't know if they are deep cycle or not. $500 for 4 of them so not as cheap as some I read about here but at least they last. 1,100 cold cranking amps. I plug in and charge up cell phone, blue tooth, & laptop all the time with the truck off. I try not to have anything plugged in overnight. I can't imagine replacing batteries every year or stealing from Wal Mart every time I did it.

    lester Thanks this.

4 years on my Odyssey batteries. No indication that they are getting weak.

Most batteries are prorated now. It may be a five year warranty, but the last er or two is at a declining rate. Only the first few years is free replacement, and many of those folks give you a hard time wanting to charge/recharge them to test for the warranty.

If the batteries are truly toast recharging them won't effect the test. They won't have any real cranking power and will show up on the test. You also can't use a car tester, you need a commercial tester where they dial in type 31 and the CCA value.

When I brought my batteries in yesterday to NAPA they didn't even test them. Just typed in all sorts of stuff into the computer and gave me new ones.

Your right. I just read the Walmart battery warranty. It's 5 years but only 3 replace and 2 prorated.

If you can adjust the setting on the Rigmaster, to come on at 12.4 volts, having the batteries not get as deeply discharged will greatly improve their lifespan.

    Hegemeister and KB3MMX Thank this.

Same ones jbee. Crazy expensive. I'm very happy so far, but they do need to last many more years, At this point I think they will last a long time

Depends on what your hotel load is inside the truck. I run an Espar, 4 cf fridge and 32" flat screen with satellite.

If you take into consideration my warranty I pay $29.95 a year for a new battery.

    I run 4 CAT 825 CCA batteries
espar bunk heater and engine heater
    fridge
    no APU

down to -30 without an issue. Sure they're around 12.0 volts in the morning but the batteries do seem to last about 2 years doing this. The trick is to either go with the starting and discharge batteries or go to a high quality AGM. The 975 CCA non-agm batteries simply do not last in any sort of hotel load scenario.

In fact I've done this for 13 years and have never had a dead truck.
