Like you wouldn't believe. 37,000 on the drives with the tandems on the trailer all the way forward. 1/2 the load was heavy as hell graphite going to Bosch brake components and the other was rolls of denim going to a clothing manufacturer. Both destinations were El Paso. We had a dispatcher at the time who had worked for Old Dominion and he called in a favor at their Montgomery, AL terminal and they helped move enough denim rolls to get the drives to around 34,800 and I slid #### near all the way forward to even it out.

I got a lecture about making sure on LTL pickups that I spread the weight at the first pickup out a bit. :)

We have both. We haul a lot for Protrans International and they like to double deck the trailer with their own rails. Since those loads are ProTrans to ProTrans, we don't have to babysit those rails, they deal with it. We also have few accounts that require double decker trailers so we have those.

If you ever go to A. Duie Pyle in York, PA, you'll see us there, that's a major homebound pickup point for us, they ship a lot of direct loads back to El Paso or Laredo.

Sounds like it may be worth your while to keep a load bar up front for when you have to make those heavy pickups.

I do it just to protect the front of my trailer, because we put numbskulls on forklifts and tell them to load trucks.

    I hate babysitting those #### things. :)

Had a load that we had to borrow some from ProTrans in Memphis to keep a load from moving around (Laredo load, original pickup driver didn't put any load locks and all I had were straps). I had about 6 of them that I had to tie to the catwalk. On my way back I asked them if I could dump these #### things off at ProTrans as they were getting on my nerves, lol.
