As the manager of a truck stop/travel plaza,I understand your comments and feelings on this.I hear the very same types of things when a member of my staff gives notice of leaving. One thing that seems to be forgotten in all the complaints about wait times for showering is this....There are only a certain amount of shower rooms available per store.( for example,my store has 14..the neighbor down the road has 18).This means a limited amount of rooms to begin with.I would love to see more rooms added, but its just not in the cards no matter how hard I beg! . Please remember when you are throwing a temper tantrum or screaming at the staff, that there can be many reasons for wait times and that they can't by magic make a clean room available. The bigger the mess left behind by the person showering, the longer it takes to clean up.When you are smearing fecal matter all over the walls and floor, leaving piles of it in the shower stall itself and trying to flush various items that cant possibly be flushed, you are causing that room to have to be shut down for an extended period of time for cleaning.I can't speak for other stores but in mine it's the main reason for shower wait times.85% of the showers this week alone had fecal matter smeared or spattered in them. Not to mention all the additional plumbing problems that were created again.
My staff does not expect tips, but are very grateful and appreciative to get them for all the hard work they do.They do however feel the lack of respect when they open a door to clean and find the usual fecal artwork left behind. As one of my longtime staff said today"I don't go into their homes and bathrooms and do this ,so why do they come in mine and do it?"
Do you tip for showers?

Forgive me but don't waitresses and waiters get paid by the hour too? Or is there something I don't know about the states? I know north of the 49 they get an hourly wage and it is based on performance if I ever give a tip.

Thank you so much for your very much appreciated comment!I am going to print it out and post it for my staff to see. We have tried using the reward card information and have managed to get a few people banned. It gets to be difficult when we hear "I gave my card to another driver to use" or "it was my co driver that must have done it"...lol..
Balakov100 and joseph1135 Thank this. -

Gotta agree with joseph1135 on this....sorry for all the PIGS in this industry...just makes you want
to beat them in the head with a shovel, but they are so brain dead it wouldn't help......
A call to the company " MIGHT " slow it down , kinda doubt it " PIGS ARE PIGS"
But yes, I will tip for a clean shower stall when I walk in...Cranky Yankee, joseph1135 and Star15 Thank this. -
