Absolutely NEVER park on the end of a row. Its an invitation to rearrange your tractor. If someone nails the steer axle, the truck will never be right again.

Well the good karma from the last trip got balanced out in the past 2 days. Ended up wasting a lot of time on account of other people's failures. I haven't taken anyone's shoe, maybe that will help. Now waiting on some deceased poultry on a crappy run that takes away a night at home, but does get me back in a day earlier. It's all good except for the $1500 less part. Payback will be a while, but I won't forget it.

@flyingmusician sorry to hear about the scheduling mishap. From the carrier perspective, no excuse for that. I've turned down load offers, paid deadhead miles/fuel, and so on in order to get someone home on time for scheduled time off. And I'm probably less able to afford that stuff than a big private fleet like yours. On the other hand, it sounds like something that doesn't happen often and things are otherwise pretty good there. If you do get some sort of reprimand, I'd take it to HR but no further. Let someone know that consuming your personal time is just as slimy as taking cash money out of your pocket. It's a bad faith move and you don't roll that way.

There was a challenge involved. I think I mentioned it in another post, but wasn't clear. 17th st was the correct route, because you have to approach the side street from the south, then back into it. It looks like a city block on the map, but for a 70 foot long truck, it may as well be a dead end and the delivery is on the right side of the street with no possible turn arounds to do sight side backing to a dock meant for straight trucks.

I'll take a Texas 2-lane with 12 foot shoulders any day over the freeway.

That's what stings the worst about it. It doesn't happen often and they're generally very accommodating. But this wasn't the week to do it.

As I explained to them with excessive force and profanity lol I'm not one of the whiners. I'm not one of the lazy ones. I do what's asked, put up with the bs backhauls, have run extra trips if asked and have one of the highest weekly mileage charts out of our DC. I don't complain and do my job and the ONE ####ing time I ask for something I get blown off like that?

Any reprimand I get I earned and I'll take it like a man.....it was a classic case of my mouth moving before my brain was in gear but also was on principle justified......but I'll also be following up with the planning boss as well. It's not like I sprung it on them after the fact......but I've been doing this long enough I know the drill. It happens. Isn't sitting so well with the wife though. She went to a lot of work over the last 3 weeks to get things squared away to be gone next week. It'll come back around at some point. I'll see to it.

Unless she gets something worked out to leave Sunday but I just don't see it happening.

Hollywood Casino, Columbus OH. Gonna play a few hours of poker. Then head off to Charlotte in the morning. Got a nice 15K lb so running 77 won't be an issue. Dinner with my buddy tomorrow and abs old high school flame just messaged me that she will be in Charlotte for the game too. That could be interesting.

F.M.57 is a skinny road with no shoulders. Fun when dry and even more fun when wet. :)

heard a truck at the house next to me that was foreclosed on about 8 months ago and has been empty.
I went outside and investigated to see what I could see but it was to dark to see anything so the world being what it is these days I called the county police to come out and investigate to make sure no one was vandalizing or something else
the cops show up and investigate and I just found out that I called the cops on my new neighbors that closed on the house yesterday.....I guess its one way to meet the new neighbors

    WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

I had a 1200 rolled up conveyor belt for a chicken plant today banded to a pallet. The front and back boards of the pallet broke, causing the bands to loosen. This was at the front of the trailer, so whenever I slowed down I'd feel it hit the wall, and fairly hard too.
