    Simply not true.

I'm that guy you see at every talking to all the other driver, whether it's a delivery, pick up, or a truck stop.

Every Schneider company driver I talk to has nothing good to say about Schneider. Ever. I have talked to over a hundred company drivers, and their response is almost always the same. Pure dissatisfaction.

Every Choice driver I talk to, always has great things to say about being an IC Choice. And this is for every Choice driver I talk to. They love it

On top of that, my own personal experience here as a company driver confirms it for myself.

Granted, every big company has issues. .. The problem with Schneider is, with them, it's more issues than any company driver should have to deal with.

On top of that, the penny pinching this company does, always comes at the expense of the driver.

The constantly lack of respect they have for drivers is appalling at best.

I will credit them with one thing... from customer service, to DBLs, to after hours, they are always nice, no matter which department you encounter.

That being said, I will say it again... I wouldn't wish this company for my worst enemy. They are the lowest of all the bottom feeder companies in my book. This is purely for the "company" driver aspect.

Freightwipper, it's not so much about "me", but more so, the aspect of how I see Schneider take advantage of the new guys. This is what bothers me most, as at one point, I was a new guy.

Also, I'm part of the 1% of drivers, whereas I have a lot of personal knowledge about how everything works at all these Mega Carriers. Therefore, I use it to my advantage.

My fourth and current DBL, after being a passed around like a ping pong ball my first month and a half, has been a DBL for 10 years, and says he has never seen a driver like me in his entire 10 years, where I constantly max out my hours and miles week after week, on top of being his most efficient driver at that., never being late.

My response to him, is that I'm sure his other drivers are not so lucky. He agrees. Unfortunately, luck is a very small part of the bigger picture.

To add, they are also a very scrupulous company with the way they give a bonus, taxed at 40%. I got a $6500 signing bonus, paid quarterly supposedly. Out of that, I get to keep roughly $3500. Ridiculous. It feels great keeping just $800 from a disproportionately paid, offset $1300 "quarterly signing bonus" this paycheck.

Everything this company does, from the way they pay their drivers, to how they tie in their "$0.02 performance safety bonus" is solely for their benefit. No way whatsoever an "ETA" should be part of my performance, expecting the driver to hit it with paper thin margins of "2 hours before, or 30 minutes after." This isn't the delivery time, mind you. This is Schneider's homemade ####-a-doodle way to keep a portion of that $0.02 "performance safety bonus". To many variables to hit this consistently. It's not realistic.

Probably why most drivers probably don't get paid much of this performance bonus.

Let's move on from that... as I'm getting nausea just thinking about it....

Where else could I be on track to making about $60k as a company driver my first year though, you ask? Easy, just about anywhere else I go. An even easier answer is KB Transport. http://www.alltrucking.com/content/1125-week-minimum-guaranteed/

The thing is, if I we're with any other company, I'd be on track to making over $75k my first year.

The one great thing that Schneider has is the IC Choice, as that program in my book is probably one of the best, if not the best place to be an Owner/Lease operator.

I knew coming in that being a company driver was gonna take some adjusting too, but I wasn't prepared for what I have actually encountered.

This is just my personal opinion of my experience as a Schneider company driver. The consensus from just about every other Schneider company driver I come across supports my opinion.

To the other guy. My attitude is great, but I'm not under the illusion that just because I work for a company I must speak highly of them. Also, it's not that I know everything, it's that I'm very knowledgeable about many things.

Please don't mistake my opinions for ignorance. Also, no need to bash me, based on mine. We all have them.

Because the difference between being a company driver and a Choice IC is cut and dry, clear as day and night!

and it's pretty cut and dry to that what you're saying about you not going to run anything but light loads you not going to run anything north of i-70 and you're going to bring home $3,000 a week... Guess what in fairy tale world that may be true but this is the real world and there are many on here that can tell you that is not going to happen but maybe a couple times a year if you're lucky... And if you don't like Schneider you keep bashing on then there is the door. ..

just simply put what you say you're going to do on choice you are already putting yourself into the hole plain and simple

I will have to agree with Pacific Islander. Seems like they try to pay you as little as possible. Don't forget for new drivers you have to be on the Per Diem thing which I still don't quite understand. Something to do with taxes.

BTW Schneider doesn't take out 40% from your bonus. That would be the IRS. Bonuses are taxed at a much higher rate than regular salary.

And based on conversations I've heard at truck stops, no driver ever likes their company because the company did them wrong one way or another. I've maybe had one issue in nearly two years with Schneider that wasn't quickly resolved after a chat with my DBL. If something's not working for you, discuss it with your DBL. Go up the chain if necessary. But if you truly hate everything about Schneider, quit. Plain and simple. Based on other threads here, you're gonna have very similar problems on Choice as you're complaining about as a company driver (long wait times on hold after hours, weird pay things, etc).

Also, in an industry where on-time pick up and delivery can be vital, why wouldn't your on-time performance be part of your bonus?

Have you heard much about Werner? Their trucks look in better shape than Schneiders.

I could ask you the same question. Honesty for me, I don't really care what the trucks look like. I heard way more negative about Werner than about Schneider. I researched several companies before finally choosing Schneider. It's the best fit for me and for my family.
