    Wow... now that's a bill!

I used to talk smack about the "texters," but it is useful in some situations. I certainly agree that I'd much rather hear a person's voice though.

Unlimited is the only way to go especially when you have teenagers.

Amen there. I've gotten the 300 page bill in the mail. :biggrin_25510:

My 18 year old is no longer on our plan, and has his own. He has to pay to play. :biggrin_25525:

That's nothing! My very last billing call before moving into data support was from a woman who couldn't figure out why her bill was over $3500. She had put her son on her plan before he shipped overseas to Egypt. She couldn't get it through her head that it was an international call and NOT mobile to mobile. :banghead:

We ended up with a $3000.00 for a month and a half because Ricks son thought he could access the internet from his phone and we wouldn't be charged. Let me tell you it wasn't nice living in our household for a long while. The cellphone wouldn't help us out any on payment arrangements. We threatened the kids with every inch of theirs lives it won't happen again.

Depending on the company you're with, you can block internet access by logging into your account on line and going to your account options for the line.. If you're with AT&T, you can also suspend a line and reactivate at will without it affecting your bill for reactivation fees. :)

Cingular told me that I couldn't restrict the internet without losing the unlimited text messaging.

Horsepucky!!! You just won't be able to send/receive picture messages. SMS does not depend on the internet to function.

I may have misunderstood them I don't know. I do know I wasn't a happy camper on the phone with them. And I told the kids the next time we get a bill like that they will sell everything and be sleeping on the floor to pay for it. We will see how long I put the fear in them.

You can also log into your online account and suspend their line for emphasis. ;)

There should also be an option to block internet as well. If it comes back with an error, call customer service and ask them to put internet blocking on the line. Again, they won't be able to send/receive pictures, but the plain ol' text messaging will work just fine. If the customer service representative says it can't be done, bump it up to their supervisor. There is a code that they can place on the line that blocks just the internet.
