I had this type conversation with the lady that goes to these FMCSA’s meetings she was told straight from the man in charge to mark safe haven to get to the first legal place one could park. I brought up safe haven reads to only hazmat but she insured me "THE MAN" says it's good to go.

Yeah. I'm gonna get myself a pot. I'm finding myself wanting to avoid truckstops more and more but I need my coffee when I wake up. I followed your advice about the mattress and for sure that was my best investment.

The whole clock running out while in a door and no clear cut guidelines to this is my biggest pet peeve in trucking.

Well besides the one where people talk to me while I'm eating.

I either have cereal with milk or microwave oatmeal. With every cup of coffee, I enjoy the irony of spending $600+ for a good inverter and the cabling and hardware, a few hours to install it, mostly to power up my $20 coffee pot. Ok to be honest it also runs the printer, TV, microwave, and a handful of various battery chargers too. I don't stay out long enough however, to rationalize sat TV like @TruckDuo has. Yet LOL.

I have a fridge/freezer, single burner, microwave plus a toaster. I don't eat at the truck stops anymore. I'm done with all that. I eat what I want when I want wherever I want. And I don't have to pay stupid prices they charge.

I have question for you all what do you do to keep your GPS or any window suction device to stay put I find that when it gets cold mine seem to fall off. I have cleaned the window and the cup it holds tight then 2 hrs later just drops off no problem in the summer but as the Temps drops it won't hold solid.

My apu inverter, only likes to work, with the truck running, and my ignition shuts down, every 5 minutes. The only way to fool, the ignition cutout,is to release, the tractor brakes.
Takes 10 minutes, for qualcom to boot up...poor wiring job.
If I forget to send in my messages, and truck shuts down,I cant send or receive data, for 10 minutes.
I try to write everything down, ahead of stop, but usually have an incomplete pickup number, and truck shuts off, just as I get back in the truck.

    TruckDuo Thanks this.

When I read your account of this, I flashed back to yesterday afternoon when I was walking out of the Love's, back to my truck. I was walking about 10 feet behind another guy that just turned and randomly started raving about Trump for President. Like I was somehow interested and needed to hear it. I tried my best to just ignore it and keep moving, as-if he was a homeless guy shouting at the sidewalk. I guess he took the cue from me looking at him like he had half a head, to continue with a straight up racist rant about Mexicans. I was too outdone to say anything but "Wow." I reached up and felt my head to make sure I had put on my toboggan and didn't accidentally grab my pointy white hat or something. It baffled me that this random dude decided I was the guy that would like to hear about all the hate in his heart.

For the record, I'm a fan of Trump and would probably vote for him. Yet, I'm disappointed that guy gets to vote too. Kind of fearful he's also driving a truck somewhere around too.
