Once he gets his commitment time in so they can't come after you for training cost, look to switch to a better company. I've never been a company driver, have only driven my own, so I can't give first hand experience, but I do know that almost every tmc guy I meet is happy and claims to be making money.

ok, thanks for the help, & yea that's what we are waiting for. We didn't want to owe anyone anything, & we made a deal, so we will keep it, & Like I said before this company is really nice to us, we appreciate the start they have given us, and the Excellent training! They are a good clean family type of company, but the miles & money are just not doing it for us...but I am excited to see what we can find down the road! :)

$.02 raise will result in $40/week more based on 2000 miles/week. That seems too low for flatbed. I hear some pay up to 50cpm.

Another idea is to find a company that does paper logs. Can get a lot more miles.

Much respect to you for owning and operating your own business, but I disagree with what you're saying. A year experience in LTL or a Private Fleet means you'll rarely sit and you'll make well over $800/week. Granted the OP may not be in a desirable location for freight, but her husband should still have viable options to make over 80k/yr once he obtains ALL of his endorsements.

yes that income happens with the type of operation you described. Good luck getting one of those jobs with five months experience.

    halfburn and G13Tomcat Thank this.

Should have clarified that a year experience and endorsements should get him that kind of money, my bad.

    G13Tomcat Thanks this.

I Totally AGREE that he should tough it out and STAY where he is for a year; and yes, get his endorsements.

You mean his family should starve for another 7 months?
