I was in Kentucky picking up some crane pads going to northern Michigan. A guy with a trailer just like yours loaded with me. I thought my load was heavy with 46k of pads on me,.. he took twice what I was carrying.

Better you than me. I'm sure you're paid well. I just cringe at how much stressed that much weight would put on my truck.

image.jpeg image.jpeg Easiest load I've ever done. Crane counterweights 20 ton each. Big miles too, almost 3000 miles Melbourne to Jimblebar, WA, iron ore mine. This was at the height of the mining boom, all over now :(

No way, it's an optical illusion. The mines are red hot on safety up there, you can't even take a crap without doing a written safe work procedure lol

    Lumber is ridiculous in Fla.

I bought my first house in Fla after my divorce. Small 1200 sqft 2bdrm, had an addition done on the rear for a family room and 1 car garage. It was perfect for just me and my brother. Then I got custody of my daughter, so I converted the garage to a bedroom for me and she got my old room. Cost me $1900 just to frame everything up and raise the floor off the concrete. Thats not including drywall, paneling, trim, wiring, electrical sockets and switches, door frame,.. etc etc. Cost me roughly $5500 doing 99% of the work myself. Paid an electrician to wire everything up. I dont do wiring or anything that can zap me.

Then I met my current wife,.. I adopted her son, so the family room was converted to a room for him.

Funny thing is last year I bought a 3300 sqft home with 4 bdrms, 2.5 bath and 3 car garage, small out building on 5 acres. Kids had already moved out, my brother wanted to stay in first home till it sells. He will eventually move back in with us. I guess he wants to get freaky with some 'escorts' and doesnt want us to know about it. Neighbor calls us all the time about the comings and goings there. Still havent sold it. But my current home is a mansion compared to my previous.

We need some Amish lumber mills in Fla. LOL
