Try mounting the amp on the bottom side of the bunk. On warm days you can leave the bunk open so it gets air. Or build a duct like one that goes to a bunk heater with a 3-4" fan to suck cool air in from the sleeper to the amp. We did that on my buddies and the problem was solved.

You mean just like one of the clip mounted truckstop 12v fans? I guess those side of the sleeper compartments of the pete would be a good spot for subs, any rattle with them in there?

    No get a quality fan.

No rattles but I put dynamat everywhere when I did the install and used loc-tite on all my hardware.

SOAD, FFDP, Slipknot....all of it! My 6x9s in boxes on the doghouse along with overhead 6" rounds and a 25x4 head does it for me!

@nofreetime Your AMP is always going to get hot after it being on for awhile... I've had systems in every car I have owned and that's generally been the case... Your AMP should have a built in fan that you can see from the side that cools it off... Doesn't it? If it does I would check to make sure it is kicking on. Being under the bunk is no different than being in back of a closed trunk like in a car.. Where in your truck is the inverter located?

Another thing you should do is install a toggle switch so that when you don't want the amp on you simply flip the switch an it shuts the power to the amp off...

I know of 2 fellas that put kicking sound systems in their trucks. One had his about 6 months. The other about 4 days. Both were stolen. Trucks are EASY to get into.

Enjoy your system while you can. It probably won't be yours for long.

For starters your insisting that a criminal will break into my truck to steal my stereo. Possibly with me in it while they are in the act of committing a felony. Are you going to insist that if I happen to be in the truck at the time that they'll kill me to take it too? In what world is your post not rude? And second how did the thieves know that your friends had the stereos in the first place? As we know in nearly all cases of burglary the thieves are going after valuables that they know in advance are there. Only thing I can think of is that they were playing loud music in a truck stop right before they parked and went inside, or they did something else to let thieves know that the stereo was there. I'm thinking that there own stupidity got your friends trucks broke into. If you flash nice thing around the criminals while in bad areas in my book your lacking common sense. So what are you trying to say here, that you roll with a bunch of fools?

Have you looked into an alpine power pack? Give those speakers a lot more juice without having to rewire them. Also with that type of music an 8 or a 10 inch sub really does add to the dynamic of the music, try it. And common man I though you said you listened to metal, that's mainstream hard rock. I was expecting you to say core, thrash, or death or something.
