Is it okay to give your card to a shipper if you get your loads through a dispatcher?

Either the shipper will call you direct or, if they have a good relationship with the person dispatching you, you'll find yourself looking for a new dispatcher.

    Ougigoug and TripleSix Thank this.

Do you have your own authority and use a dispatching service that deals through brokers on your behalf?

Technically that's forbidden and most likely stated in a clause in the contract you signed with the broker (s). I'm sure it happens all the time but if it's a broker you use frequently and like than think twice, you know the old saying about biting the hand that feeds you. If not than I suppose your business card could accidentally fall out of your pocket and onto the shippers desk.

    Ougigoug Thanks this.

That's was what I was kind of thinking also. But I just wanted to get some other opinions on it. I don't want to step on any toes BUT this particular shipper is something we really want to do its local and could be very good run every day.

    Thanks for your thoughts

If you had a pen with your company name and phone# on it and just happen to leave it behind (oops), I mean everybody forgets their pen, right?

Big_D409 and Lindsey Leveston Thank this.
