Not coming to Schneider at this time.

    I haven't had an issue yet and I would say I average about 1 deadhead a week over 100 miles.

    So today I did as they asked. Dropped my loaded trailer and BT to a customer to get an MT before heading to a live load.

    Get to the location to get the mt and they have one mt and the guy tells me they have three loads to get out and have been promised trailers would be brought in.

    So he says #$@* it, take the mt, we'll ship by another carrier... From here on out.

    Good job box planners.

    I would love to know what if any #### the box planners get on situations like this. Hell I get a weekly report about how crappy we are doing as a group when out OTD is at 96% and how that affects business. But this stuff continues to be the norm.

    In my thread today I mentioned that when I dropped this morning there were no empties. I would have thought nothing of it had the guard not mentioned to me that Schneidet bobtails had been coming all day to take out empties. So these brilliant planners couldn't see that drivers with loads coming in would need an empty?

    So this was at 0800....my next pickup 12 miles away was at 0930 by the time they found me a trailer....me getting there...then backtracking (all for free) I got to shipper at 1130....who said "sorry but we ain't gonna get to you today"

    Oh and instead of letting me just run by the Dallas OC and grab one I had to wait for a planner to get off his/her ### to send me PAST the OC to get an empty and then PAST it again to go back.

    But yeah it's the driver's fault.

    You know what my ICA had the nerve to tell me when I called in to expedite things? "Well this is why we implemented the fines so that drivers don't tie up trailers".

    Honestly I wanted to see how it played out. I didn't mind if the load cancelled. It was a shorty to Palestine with deahead coming back to Wilmer so the VNU and lack of deadhead worked out. Yeah I burned a few extra miles. But nothing ridiculous.

    And if they ended up taking me and I couldn't cover the Wilmer load due to lack of hours well there a plenty of loads out of there at decent rates that would have still got me home tomorrow.
