The oil field is for one thing, and that is paying off debt (if you have it) and saving cash. Living like what you could make at 'home'. If you start living off the oil field money, and most do, you will not be able to transition into a 'normal' work salary.

Like they said tho, you're going to have to trim up to go home. The dollars you seek just aren't in everyday trucking.

Same boat here I was working for chevron in Bakersfield good job . I am making alot less out driving and working more hours. Wait for the boom that's all I can do.

I think I've delivered acid to Chevron in Bakersfield. Delivered to a couple of places there. Loads of acid from Tennessee to Bakersfield.

Lots of mining
Lots of mining in New Mexico, so quite a bit of tanker work in dry bulk. I think Groendyke Transport and Coastal Transport hires from New Mexico also.
