I did 20 but wish I would have done 30. I got out just like everyone else to make the big bucks. I was very lucky in my job and enjoyed getting up everyday. I was told by an old salt that the day you get up and don't want to go to work is the day you make a change.

It's not like it used to be. It wasn't fun any more. Too much PC crap now. Hell, they jump your case for letting loose a nice swear word now. **sigh**

I was told that when you can remember more bad than good, it's time to leave. I always managed to forget the bad within a week but I remember the fun I had from day one to this day.

Biker you ain't kidding. When I was waiting to get operated on, I took a job as an instructor. You wouldn't believe how fast you can end up in the Sgt Maj's office when you make some little snotty ### 18 year old cry for kicking a desk into his chest because he decided his nap was more important than staying awake and paying attention to what you have to say.

When I was a shower shoe, getting a desk kicked into me was the least of my concerns. I was more worried if I made the Sergeant mad, he may actually kill me and hide the body. I don't know what it's going to be like in another 10 years and I dread the day I find out.

add my 'hear, hear'. Man, I was terrified of my drill instructors in boot camp. Murder was the BEST I could hope for. The one line I really remember from Heavy Metal (movie) that sticks with me pretty much sums up the terror:

"Hangin's too good for 'im! Burnin's too good for 'im! 'E should be chopped into itty bitty pieces and buried alive!" Yea, I could see that happening to me on any given day.

Nowadays, I hear they yell "Please get in order", and "That's not a nice thing to say, recruit" - and never get within 10 feet of the squab's face.

Sad. turrible, turrible sad, it is.

Still, can't be all that bad. The good guys are Still kicking butt no matter where they go. Might be that the learning curve is just flatter than it yooster be, but the job's still gittin' done.

Until the politicians screw it up. Again.

After a certain amount of time, swearing can become an art form :)

I could light a kid up and have him ready to burst and never utter any of the big 7 curse words or repeat the same thing twice lol. Takes years of practice but it can be done hahahaha.

**chuckle** I wasn't a DI... However, when I was in the security "biz", I had the reputation for being able to turn a kid inside out and make him wet himself.

    No carp?
    Inside or outside? :biggrin_25525: :biggrin_25523:

BTW, that DI script I wrote,..............
I wasn't thinkin' of you for the starring role. More like receivin' than deliverin' the message.
Does that produce a different effect? :biggrin_25523::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:
