Any good source for study material for a pre trip inspection? I'd like to find something with the verbiage that Prime instructors are looking for.

Don't congratulate me yet... I've still got a lot a long row to hoe. But thanks, I appreciate it.

Wait until you get there they'll give you a copy of the verbiage they are looking for. You'll have 2-4 weeks to learn it before you have to take your test. Plus it's easier to learn it when you have the truck you'll be taking the test on in front of you.

Some of the basic pre-trip include:
Check your fluids: Oil, power steering, coolant. Transmission after driving for a bit.
Check your tires, use a pressure gauge. Pressure has to be at least 100 or 120 psi
    Check your lights, turn signals/hazards
Inspect the trailer and under structure for damage
Start the engine and air up the system. Air pressure alarm and light should turn off at 60 psi. Shut the engine off once its at full pressure (usually 120-130 psi). Hold your foot on the brake for a minute, to test to see if you have an air leak when brakes are activated. I think the threshold on this is about 20 psi loss in that minute (ordinarily, you shouldn't have any pressure drop with a properly serviced brake system).
Pump the brake pedal to reduce pressure, with the yellow parking brake valve pushed in on a level surface. Keep going until it pops out at 30 psi or less.

No. Absolutely no. If you follow this you will fail it. It is taught and broken down into sections. If there are two phrases you need to remember they are...

    Properly mounted and secure
Not cracked bent or broken (meta pieces)
No abrasions bulges or cuts (rubber)

They give you the inspection in sections with the exact verbiage on the last or second to last day of orientation.

The material they give you in pretrip class explains it VERY well.

Yep, because he's the only one there we report to. I'm glad you could pull up a court document from 30+ years ago and make it seem like it just happened. While we are at it shall we pull up your records from when you were in high school acting like retard and getting sent to detention? :biggrin_25522:
