First, I will add my thanks for your service to the one above.

Second, as with anyplace, Abilene has its issues but I think it's a good place to be.

Hope to have the pleasure to welcome you aboard when you get here.

Again, thanks for your service and hopes for a smooth transition to civilian life when that day arrives.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

Thanks for the words of encouragement, I realize that with any job there will be ups and downs especially during the learning phase but I try to be pretty trainable and usually pick things up pretty quickly. So hopefully I'll be able to come aboard and I too look forward to meeting the lot of ya'll.

Hey RC, next time just let the truck "drift" into his lane, he will get the message.

If there hadn't been soooo much traffic, I might have! But, the holiday racing season has begun. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it to stay out for them.

JB, I think I need your FM. Mine seems to be broken lately!

Really? I'm now on my sixth FM in the 3 years I'm here. When I got to my truck last Friday to leave after hometime, there was a message on my QC from my new FM introducing himself. He's in Wytheville, haven't spoke one word to him, on the phone or via QC. I've resigned myself to the fact that a FM here at Abilene is either a babysitter or a personal secretary. I have a pretty good idea what the last six have been for me. I also believe, now this is just my assumption, the table and chairs in the drivers lounge could do the same job for me...just sayin'.

You can't really compare the Navy to otr trucking. You are home a whole lot more in the Navy. Unless you spent a year or so unaccompanied overseas of course. Doing a six month cruise and work ups still puts you home more.

Well yes and no, I've been ships company twice, which stinks most days when you're an air dale. Then 3 years as a recruiter home everyday but 12-18 hour days not much of a home time if you will. So I can say she is used to my being away a lot.

Where's that load going? Got a feeling I may be picking it up tomorrow since my delivery is close to there.
