    Hometime over. :biggrin_1square6:

USX asked us to cover this UPS run that picks up near Buffalo for a day and a half.. Once done with that, back to Ceva. Should of said no when they asked us. Went to the truck yesterday to put my groceries away. Saw a USX empty trailer so I went to grab it. Guard shack says it's in 'shop' status. Shop says the trailer is good to go but Breakdown is the only one who can remove it from 'shop' status since the driver who brought it in entered the wrong macro on the DriverTech . I go through the hassle of that then as I'm driving to park the truck with trailer.....my truck won't accelerate.:biggrin_25521: Trucks gotta go in the shop and I can't keep the empty trailer. Shop says their so busy they can't get to me till Sunday. USX gave us a pre-plan that picks up from Amazon Saturday (today) that delivers in Pennsylvania to get us close to UPS. Our managers now freaking out. He's thinking the shop will work on my truck right away cause I tell them to.o_O I went home since the wife was making Thanksgiving dinner. Found out the higher ups got involved and moved my truck to the top of the list. Software needed to be reprogrammed.

Don't know if our shop likes me. I had to go over their head regarding the satellite dish, truck fridge and now this. :banghead: Thinking about catering lunch for them when we get back around Christmas.:alien:

Who does like me is the guard shack. They kept that empty trailer like I asked them to. ;) It's a brand new one. Got the trailer tail. It was easier to fold than I thought it was going to be. This being USX though.....unfortunately a driver already got into an accident with it. Shop said a driver slammed his faring onto the drivers side. :biggrin_2553:

Lot of snow in Chicago. Not too bad but not the way I wanted to start. Sitting at Amazon in Joliet, IL. Deliver this in Pittston, PA Sunday then gonna park at a truck stop near Buffalo, NY for our 12pm Tuesday UPS load.:tongue8:

The Spicer 16 speed is a bit of a rare bird. It was pretty much the same gear pattern as the Spicer 5 × 4 transmission in a reverse twist of that 3 stick setup, instead of a second stick, it had a single stick and air splitter control. Think of it as a super 10 on crack, instead of a single split between lever shifts there were more.

The shift knob looked like an R2 unit from Star Wars, lol!

It lost out to the Eaton transmission here in the US which ended up being less complex from a maintenance point of view which for an owner operator is something you would want.

They were a bit more popular overseas and in Latin America.

Here's an Aussie driver demonstrating the Spicer 16.

And to prove how big a nerd I am, and old post I made about this.

Not sure how much you get up to Buffalo but Jim's is a good truck stop to stage at. You have the Galleria mall within walking distance and the food in the truckstop itself ain't half bad.

Parking lot is a bit of a mess but there is plenty of parking. Just don't park in the Kmart lot next door.

Good ol Swift never fails to disappoint.

After dropping my load in Loudon, Tn I ran over to the east side of Dandridge to make my next pickup going to Dallas. It's off state hwy 411 which apparently used to be a windy 2 lane road. I counted at least 2 signs in the 1/4 mile from the ramp off 40 saying old turn off closed and new turn off up ahead. As I passed it you could see the road barricaded off. Both my GPS' however want to take you the old way

Well as I'm coming back good ol Swift is getting ready to make a left down the old road. I try yelling out to him on the CB he's gonna be in a pickle if he does. But he goes and makes that left anyway.

As I pass he's just staring at the barricade with his 4 ways on. No way to turn around. Kinda wish I could have stuck around to see it play out.

No charge. They just have a "no leaving your truck unattended" policy that's loosely enforced.

They just don't want anybody parking and going home. I used to park at Jim's quite a bit as I have an ex in Buffalo.
