When I start my mythical trucking company, I'm gonna require them. What do you guys think, should it be an essential stipulation? Realize in the real world, trucking is a job of last resort for a lot of people and companies need to fill seats, leaving little room to be hypercritical but has it gone too far? Helped a guy out the other day that was hooking to a trailer and his whole fifth wheel went right under the pin but he couldn't figure out how to get back out. Kinda cracked me up seeing how frustrated he was.

It'd be a better world if people had to take them.
No what other world problems can we solve.Straight Stacks, Vilhiem, HalpinUout and 3 others Thank this. -
Never knew you could get outta that situation...realistically if mechanical aptitude were a requirement the truck traffic would drop by more than half

Just put a can of PB Blaster under the back to level it out so the front wouldn't hit the pin. Not exactly newtonian physics, but this kid seemed like he was ready to call the Road Squad. Not sure exactly the reasoning behind dropping your airbags before backing under a trailer that's too high to begin with eitherLast edited: Nov 22, 2015

Boss told me pooping for an average of 10 minutes every work day, equals out to 40 hours of paid vacation each year. He would like to solve this issue. Seems I'm getting the equivalent of a month and a halfrank, Cottonmouth85, Chewy352 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm the first to admit that I wasn't very mechanically inclined before I started this trucking journey. I guess they call 'em training companies for a reason. So I guess Mythical Trucking Company wouldn't be interested in me three years ago haha.
And maybe not even now, I'm kind of known to complain a lot as I do the things I told my boss I wasn't going to do just ten minutes ago, but end up doing them because I like money. Is Mythical Trucking Company hiring?

Said Mythical Trucking Company will be hiring as soon as the incorporating ink dries and sustainable start-up capital has been leveraged thru GoFundMe.com. All drivers must have own tools and be ASE certified.
lots of character and truckon Thank this. -
Some companies do require a mechanical aptitude test. I had took one for United Road when I applied there
Original Bender and Canned Spam Thank this. -
and to the OP.....Why not go the whole shebang and give an intelligence test while you're at it?
Although your 20 truck operation might only have 3 or 4 units running, depending on what area of the country you're in.....(even less if you're in STATES REDACTED)Last edited by a moderator: Nov 23, 2015
