    Didnt feel like waiting another week to be painted when it was in the shop back in April. Figured I'd come back and get it painted in Sept. Ended up doing Inframe instead. I might get it painted next spring or summer. Not really that important right now. Not exactly a show truck.

    I always joke with the guys at BluBeacon,.. I tell them this is what happens to a Peterbilt when it gets too dirty.

    Fair enough.........seemed at the time that Koch was gonna pay for a FIX. Struck me as odd that on an insurance job a shop woulda fixed the hood and matched rattle can black. That's all.

    Still in court with Koch.

    My insurance paid for the repairs,.. well they cut me a check. Then I paid for what I had done. There was $600 left to paint the hood.

    After being home for so long,.. there are only so many reruns of Pawn Stars and Myth Busters a guy can take. I wanted to get back out on the road. I rattle canned it (Again) myself before I left. That and I was eager to get the generator and side boxes done.

    Truck makes the same money with a black hood or green hood.

    Yeah that's a slightly lighter version...I keep saying I'm gonna take a good pic of one of the drawbars & Rockingers, but I keep forgetting. They're so common around here, it's kinda like a fifth wheel, why take a pic, everybody knows what they are kinda...oh, and they aren't cheap, last I heard was about $6k.
    It takes one heck of a hitch to get a 3 wide 24 line moving...that's 12 tires across per line (axle) by 24 lines (axles) long equals 288 tires, each bearing 5000lbs for a total max gross of 1,440,000lbs. That's what Mammoet uses to move a fully operational Cat 797 Rock Truck. A buddy that works there said it takes a crew about a week to put the trailer together.
    A 797 is rated at 400 ton load capacity...yes that's 800,000lbs of dirt in ONE dump truck!
    For those that don't know, the pictures below are;
    1 & 2: a 797 rear axle...it weighs about 95,000lbs, yes just the axle. Look closely in the background, and you can see a full one in the next bay over.
    3 & 4: the actual truck (from 1&2) partially assembled 3 weeks later.
    5 & 6: the bucket of the machine that loads those big dump trucks, 3 buckets, truck is full, yes about 150 tons of dirt per bucket full. (For scale, I'm 5'10" standing inside that bucket)
