Amen to that...heck,sometimes a guy will run through all of them and still mess something up.I didn't mean to come down on him with both feet, but I,like a lot of fellas on here get tired of our intelligence being insulted by ####### remarks that are aimed at making us look stupid for not doing it the "Wal-mart" way.....I imagine there are a lot of folks posting on here that have WAY more saddle time than 99% of the big company "training engineers" out there and they get a bit sick of listening to the drivel that they beat into these greenhorns heads. If you are smart enough to "plan" for everything then you would be smart enough to be running the show and not just a truck.:biggrin_25525:

I partially agree with that statement. It's good that you have the common sense to value and experienced person's opinions/advice, and then mold it to fit your way of operating. But I don't get the "earn my respect part" of it though. Why does an older hand have to earn YOUR respect before you can learn something from him? Personally, if an "old timer" is kind enough to pass along a little knowledge and save me from the school of hard knocks, I'll gladly take it. He's been there and done that, and lived to pass along the experience to me, so I'll be darned if I'm gonna demand his respect before I listen. Just my opinion.

The best trick I have learned for this situation is so silly...

I keep a coffee can lined with a small trash bag, and one of those puppy housebreaking piddle pads.. that way if I really MUST go, there is no liquid that may spill. And I can just tie the bag and toss somewhere down the line!

Sorry, but being female, I just CAN'T pee in a bottle!

I've never had anything against a green hand....EVERYBODY is a green hand at some point in their working life....I've OJTed a lot of folks on different things and not only enjoyed it,but respected the person I was showing how to do something. The idiots I don't respect are the ####### who think a two week "school" and a few days riding with another numbnuts makes them to smart to learn a thing or two.I bought and paid for my first class 8 truck in the early 80's and there is a dude in his mid twentys on here that I pm constantly with diesel Hot rod questions because not only is he twice as smart in that field than I am,but I respect him too.But then there's another brainfarter on here that's got less than a year in coming on here talking trash about the chicken truckers that is the same age and I have zero respect for him and frankly I can't stand him and he represents the other end of the spectrum.Thinks he knows it all and everytime he opens his mouth,he proves he doesn't.So respect IS earned in my book and age nor time in has anything to do with it.It's how you present yourself and your willingness to respect others.

We had on of those in our van , for when we went to cape ann every rear, it worked out great, I will never forget it. My father was just telling me a funny story aabout it a couple of days ago. My mother got on it, and we where parked, well he decided to pull a funny one, and started up and took off, while she was on it, he said she was yelling away and we where laughing our ##### off, I dont remember, because I was to young, but I could just picture the whole thing unfolding. LOL:biggrin_2559:

I save coffee cups with lids for that reason :biggrin_2559:
I can't tell you how many places I go to that have public restrooms for men and the ladies room is miles away on the other side of the building inside the offices.

This one regular customer I deliver to- we had one of our drivers whiz on the sidewalk going into the building one morning. Really ignorant, considering that about 10 more steps and he could have used the restroom inside. A driver from another company ended up stepping in it and reporting it inside and needless to say, it became a HUGE issue. I didnt feel particularly honored to be asked to call my boss and tell him what so and so did and then tell my boss the driver was banned from the facility. :biggrin_2554:

I plan it every time. When I have to go, I stop the truck and grab a cup. That's called Just-In Time Urination.
