"I'll be honest, on uship it takes about 2 weeks to book loads to make it worth it, but if it was easy every Tom, Dick and Harry would get a pickup, trailer and start hauling"
That's the important part you left out. so you have three weeks total invested.
If it works for you I'd keep doing it as is and not worry with the signs or crap.

All this means nothing to the police they see truck traffic as their personal ATM's
They see hotshot setups as cash cows. If you're not being bothered I wouldn't hold my hand up.

That's each load, I'm booking them on my phone, picking up one day and taking down the next, picking up loads there and bringing up when I'm ready.

I've looked up other sites where truckers can book loads, I just haven't seen anything worth any money on them. Brokers I suspect.

Very few good paying loads of late. You have to be the one to decide if you're making money in the end.
IT took about a year for me to decide when I started and I'm still working on improving my plan.
Which right now consist of more sitting or doing something else to make money more than hauling.
I may have to look into the dog hauling thing.

You need a bigger trailer, less work more pay. Get out of uship and get on some real loadboards.

That's exactly what is happening. This website gets at least two posts a day everyday of people trying to get into "hotshotting."

True and understandable. I did my own research, went out and physically knocked on a couple doors and got the info I needed to become a legit company.

But I know this industry gets flooded with guys who think they can jump in and start moving things after watching a few episodes of shipping wars. I've been in the repossession business since 18, and I know that a heavy investment is required to keep you up and running.

Driving my route is isn't a challenge, #### near 3 straight lines. But booking, matinence, and expanding is my responsibility to keep this company alive. I just paid off a $50k truck, bought another and a cargo van. I repo all types of trailers and my boss let's me buy them for the price of the lein. 2013 24ft enclosed $1500. Everyone has an edge with connections, mine just so happens to be equipment and a dealers license.

So I went to an inspection site today, they didn't check anything but weight. Nothing in the trailer, but I asked what would I need. Nothing.....
