Yep. I'll never completely be rid of the bad guy. I still need him from time to time.

I just learned how to keep him bottled up and only let him out when I need to see him now.

That was the hardest life lesson of all to learn was how to keep the lid on that jar unless he's absolutely needed. Most problems can be handled without him. For too long I thought he was the only one that could solve them.

    Some things I just can't or won't.

For as much as what she did to me, even more for what she did to the kids.

After talking to my son yesterday, hell he may beat me to it lol

Some things require retribution and vindication and can't be let go.

She got most of the stuff. I wasn't up to fighting over it. Told her I wanted custody of the kiddo and my truck and trailer, she could have the rest.

My lawyer thought (and still thinks) I was a complete idiot. But I'm not one for long drawn out battles.

I was legally married in America for 12 yrs... Since before the marriage I told my husband that if we ever divorced, I would not ask for anything... He bought a shack and turned it into a nice home... I didn't help much... :biggrin_25512::biggrin_25513: We never had kids together... When we split, I asked him what he wanted from me and he said, "Well... we'll have to sell the house and split the money..."
Poor man... after 2 "bad" marriages he thought I would take his money too.... But I honor my word... Told him, "I told you before, I don't want anything from you... Whatever I gave you, I did from my heart and that is yours to keep." We had an amicable divorce...

Gotcha... ;) Good thing you like to cook and he likes your cooking...
I have never been a good cook... :biggrin_25512: So.. that didn't work very well with my (last) ex... All I could do for him was salads... He would cook everything else for himself.. specially the meat... I don't cook meat... :biggrin_25512:
